Company

Targa boats are designed and built in Finland by Botnia Marin’s team of over 200 dedicated professionals. The company was founded in 1976 by Johan Carpelan with strong support by his wife Britt-Marie. Still today the company is fully family-owned and the second generation is involved in the business. Also involved in the company, right from the start, is Production Manager Mikael Ljungqvist.

Tough built to withstand even the harshest waters, some 90% of Targa boats are exported – a testament to the international respect in which the boats have always been held. The main

markets are found in the north and the west of Europe but e.g. Greenland, Italy and Greece are also important markets for Targa.

Already since 1997, Botnia Marin has two full range boat yards with own lamination, carpentry, technical planning and installation of all possible equipment.

• “Botnia South” is situated south of Vasa in Malax. This is the original site with the head quarter and the production of the Targas between 31 and 44 feet. After many years of expansions the facilities today consist of 13 000 m2 and 150 employees.

• “Botnia North” is situated, approx 100 km north of Malax, in Nykarleby. This yard was acquired in 1997 from Sunwind Yachts and today the Targa 23.1, 25.1 & 27.1 are built in the 4 000 m2 facilities by some 50 employees.
